Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Chromebook Plus 2-in-1's touchscreen, ease of use, lightweight design, and good battery life. Many appreciate its convenient size and performance capabilities. However, some users express disappointment with the sound quality of the speakers and the lack of a standard USB port. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments regarding the less-than-ideal audio and port selection.

I had the old chrome and I loved it. This one however, I can play roblox, its faster, has a better screen view, basically it is a more advanced version and bit bigger too. I like how you can charge it from both sides and that you can charge it easy with the the regular chargers for the cellphone and not have to connect it all the time but you do have to buy another usb hub to use a mouse. One of the easiest computers I have had granted I had chrome already and its fast, and I have used every program I want. Also you can take screen pictures easily and can even just select the section before the screen picture. Another bonus the pen since I dislike my screen dirty however, it has a touch screen so I get the scree smudged anyway. Overall I love it, I do not like microsoft only because it has too many programs I will not use and sometimes I can't even find the one I want to use and mac I just do not like it at all. This one is easy to use none that you do not need and if you need more you can just easily download them they are compatible.

    Best laptop, tablet under 1k

This is one of the best pieces of technology I have used. It's a tablet and a laptop. The stylish makes for an amazing amount of practical uses. I have a 1k+ MacBook air and I prefer the chromebook. I'm amazed at the quality of Samsung, Android and Google products. This will rival anything under 1200+ in all areas besides gaming and raw computing power. With the customization and "extensions" available the possibities are endless. Oh yeah, and you can use the Google play store, and I can text and literally use my phone from the chromebook. (I have an s8). Add a ln external disc and hard drive, and this is the best thing you can buy under 1200 bucks. Love seeing people on their expensive laptops on campus look over with envy.

Chromebook 123 is good.. but my problem is sometime its hard to connect in wifi.. and when you use it in FB live the camera is like a video you stretch but in normal camera everything is good i recommend that instead using the fb apps you may use chrome to sign in on fb... easy to use and its to light to carry... i will recommend this product to all my friends...

This computer is great. !! You can download apps and still be able to use it like an actual labtop. Minor stuff such as getting an adapter to use usb is a little annoying but it worth it.

    Poor quality hardware

Samsung did a great job at being the first to have a true integration of an Android Tablet with a Chromebook. Unfortunately the quality of the hardware has crippled my Chromebook. After just 5 weeks of use the video card on my Chromebook is going out. The display has a large gray band of "static" going along the bottom that covers up the program icons and the start menu and there is a another stripe running vertically down the right side. I am waiting for Samsung to send me a return label so I can get it fixed but I truly wish I hadn't purchased this Chromebook. If you look at the attached picture you can see the noticeable stripes. Other complaints I have are a cheap feeling keyboard, a very small backspace key and quite tinny sounding speakers. Samsung should have placed them on the top above the keyboard where this is a lot of space. The body of this Chromebook has quite a bit of flex. It doesn't always sit firmly at a desk but instead bounces around. Don't believe Samsung's claim of long battery life. In reality it is about 1/2 of what they claim. While I am waiting for this to be repaired I'm back to my 3.5 year old Acer C-720---it was a $99 computer but is doing great---battery life outshines the Samsung and the keyboard is acceptable.

Wanting a new chromebook to replace my old hp chromebook and I thought about this Samsung one. It is really light weight and super compact. I don't think the pictures will justify how portable this unit is so you have to see it for yourself in person. It works like any other chromebook on the market but it is a little faster and is a 2-1 kinda deal. You can switch easily from the laptop phase into the tablet phase. Plus it also comes with a nice built in stylus to help with your drawings or note taking. With that being said, there are A LOT of android apps to help compliment your Samsung chromebook needs. If you're already invested in the Google ecosystem then you will really love using all of the Chromebook's features. Even if you just have a gmail you will still love it. The ONLY issue I hate about this is that it just comes with only 2 usb c slots. Just a measly 2... so I just have to carry a small usb hub to use if I need to add additional slots.

This chromebook has great screen quality, not as fast as the pro, but fast enough for me, much easier to use than my 17 inch laptop, and battery last longer too I'm happy with it, glad I got it

This is basically an android tablet with a permanent keyboard attached. Touch screen is bright and responsive. Would have preferred a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 3:2. It cannot do 1920x1080 resolution due to the aspect ratio so HD playback has to be done through the browser and not apps. The speakers are not very loud. The unit is very compact which is nice. Battery life is fairly good, and I recharge after 8 hrs of use. For the price it's great due to the touch screen features, though I am more used to the keyboard.

I haven't had this chromebook very long but so far so good! I've had my Apple laptop for 5 years and it started to die on me. It would be 500 to fix, so instead I picked this! I got a chromebook because I do not necessarily need a typical laptop. I love how quick this starts up, the battery life, how light it is, and the 2 in 1 feature. I don't have much need for the s-pen but it is a nice addition. I've always loved Samsung products!

It is an amazing notebook. During school one day my chrome notebook was at 30 percent and the school day just started, I used it for the whole day and in the end it was at 10%. It is also very fast and easy to carry around. If someone is starting school but don’t want to buy an expensive MacBook I would definitely recommend this.

This is my third Chromebook and so far it's my favorite. The screen looks great, and functions very well. The software when switching from laptop to tablet mode is a little glitchy every now and then but very easy to resolve each time and it's likely that Google will patch that eventually. It's lightning fast and super lightweight. The aluminum build has a nice feel and the stylus works very well.

My special needs son bought this laptop because he was tired of his iPad that he had for 6 years. I thought it would not meet his needs but it is AWESOME! It is fast, brilliant screen display even though other reviews stated it was not. easy to use, lightweight, and great accessories to attach other devices. It was a good purchase for his needs.

    Good machine

I bought this machine to replace my Samsung tablet that was on its last leg. I love that this machine supports Google Play and the convertible form factor lets me use it like a laptop or tablet. The touchscreen and pen are a nice feature and frequently find myself scrolling by touchscreen instead of the track-pad. The track-pad is a high quality and supports several different multi-finger gestures; my only gripe is that my fingers are large and I find myself scrolling several times to make the same progress I would with swiping the screen. The screen has an uncommon 3:2 aspect ratio instead of the traditional 16:9. Using this machine in tablet mode on its side feels like you are holding a pad of paper and feels very natural. I have seen a few complaints that this aspect ratio leaves big letterbox bars on the top/bottom of the screen but I have not had this issue and it is an acceptable amount of viewing space. The keyboard is also on the small size since the screen size uses more vertical space than a traditional screen. There is a good amount of travel between keys so typing gets more friendly as you get used to it. One thing I do not think I will ever get over is the backspace button. This key is usually 2x bigger than a regular key and it is actually smaller here than other keyboards. I frequently find myself hitting the keys next to it, leading to deleting even more typos. The tab button has the same issues but since I do not use that key very often it isn't as much of an issue for me. The keyboard is also not back lit. The screen is bright enough that you can use it to see the keyboard but then it is too bright to use at nighttime. The speakers are mediocre. While they do not get very loud, I do not think I would ever need to blare music from this device; it also has Bluetooth and I would just connect to my speaker system for this to be a deal breaker. Depending on usage, I am getting around 8 hour batter life. This is mostly spent surfing the web but also a couple hours of movies/Netflix. Could get closer to 10 hours of just web based activities and not streaming. It charges quickly using the included type-c USB charger. I get a full charge in less than 3 hours. I think this machine is great for basic usage but not at the $600 price tag. I was able to get it at $100 off plus free Samsung Connect Home Pro router ( https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-connect-home-pro-ac2600-whole-home-wi-fi-system-white/5872506.p?skuId=5872506 ). With a sale like that, I would recommend this Chromebook. Otherwise, I would direct you towards other machines that come at a lower price point.

I have an aging android tablet that I needed to replace. I have always know about chromebooks, but didnt want one initially because they were originally suppose to be lightweight web browser only OS. About a year ago Google made android apps available on chromebooks and this Chromebook plus is the first to enable this feature. I love this little thing. It is lightweight, fast, the battery last a while, and aesthetically well made. The screen is nice and sharp and there is plenty of brightness available. The keyboard is a little small compared to a typical laptop, but it works very well for short term use. The speakers on this chromebook are pretty weak. You pretty much have to turn the volume up to near max in order to hear audio comfortably. The ability to transform into tablet mode also allow me to play touch enabled games very easily. Over all this is for people who do web browsing, game playing, video watching, and music listening with headphones or external speakers.

Great replacement for Note/Tab Pro 12.2" tablet

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I got mine 2 days early shipped from Best Buy. I've been looking to replace my Samsung Tab Pro 12.2" tablet and this seemed perfect as it can be folded over to be a tablet, but can also be used like a regular laptop. Plus it runs Chrome and Android apps. So far I'm very pleased. Battery life is good, 7 to 9 hours I would say. The keyboard works well, although it is somewhat mushy and the delete key is too small so I often press = by mistake. The trackpad works well for two finger scrolling and you can enable "tap and drag" in Accessibility settings. Two finger scrolling does have a bit of "bounce back" when you take you fingers off it, which is annoying. The screen is really good and I only need to put it on 1/2 brightness. The aspect ration is 3:2 which is perfect for browsing and using as a tablet. The touchscreen works very well. I love that I don't need a special case to prop it up; the 360 degree hinge allows you to situate the screen at whatever angle you choose. Chrome is fast and responsive. I have over 15 tabs in 4 windows open and performance is fine. One trick you can use is to press the "search" and "esc" keys to see the task manager, which will tell you which tabs are using the most CPU. I found that Amazon often uses a lot of CPU when it's tab is visible. Chrome runs twice as fast (9500 vs 4500) as on the Note / Tab Pro tablet (see "Octane" benchmark image). Android apps generally work pretty well. However often I find that the Chrome web version of the app is better. For instance Google Maps is much better on Chrome. Google Inbox seems faster on the app version though. I haven't played much with the stylus but it is just like the Note stylus and seems to work fine. I've had a couple of issues with Bluetooth to my external speaker. It can cut in and out when there is a lot of CPU activity on other web pages or apps. Also, when I pause the music (using Google Play Music), after a minute or so sound is routed to the Chromebook's speakers instead of to the Bluetooth speaker. I'm hoping Google / Samsung can fix these issues soon. In closing, this seems like a great replacement for the Tab / Note Pro 12.2" tablet, and doesn't require a special case or keyboard accessory.

Got this laptop on Wednesday, was expecting Friday but it came early. First impressions are very good. It is both thinner and lighter than I expected and is built very well IMO. Keyboard is WAY better than I thought after looking at reviews. There is good key travel and I like the curved keycaps. There is some slight flex and some key are a bit small but I am already adjusting. Screen is bright and VERY sharp as expected. Battery life is also very good for my use so far. I was also worried about the speed of the RK3399 but so far it has been excellent. Pages load very fast and I have noticed no slowdowns. Should be good enough for 95% of users (especially if its not a primary machine). Overall I have been very satisfied with this purchase, hopefully that continues!
