Having a cloud based OS is pretty similar to using your smartphone -Its at its prime online or connected to a network, however, there is still plenty you can offline. The core of what it was designed to do is online. So, it was somewhat of an ignorant/opinionated answer you were given. That doesn't mean that a chromebook -or surface for that matter- is right you. It really depends on what you're trying accomplish.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'd say that's pretty much spot on. Everything is based off of Google. Google does allow some offline work though. But yes, for the most part you're going to need the internet.
