You will need some sort of internet provider (where I live in the Phoenix area, the two major ones are Cox and Centurylink) in order for this to function. This, and other routers/whole-home wifi systems, do not create the internet out of nowhere; rather, they channel it into a format that your devices are capable of using to gain access to the internet.
