• You will need some sort of internet provider (where I live in the Phoenix area, the two major ones are Cox and Centurylink) in order for this to function. This, and other routers/whole-home wifi systems, do not create the internet out of nowhere; rather, they channel it into a format that your devices are capable of using to gain access to the internet.

• If you are buying the device to provide WiFi connection to the Internet you need an Internet connection and the ability to plug an Ethernet cable from your Internet connection (modem, router, direct) to this device.

• Yes, but you can buy your own router so you aren't paying a monthly service for their's.
