I am not an expert and would have expected the Type C to work on your device if it has a Type C port. A Google search tells me there are still compatibility problems. I don't know if this is relevant to your situation but it sounds like it may not be that you are doing something wrong.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It works perfectly fine with my Galaxy Tab S6. So I assume it should work with the note 9. You may have to format it to Fat32 or exFat tho
