You can either use the file manager in your tablet or phone (you can download one from the Play Store), or you can use the adapter to use the SD card reader on your laptop or computer. On your tablet or phone, you generally long press the file name and then select delete from the menu. On your computer, you just use Windows Explorer.

In my opinion the best option is to buy an did reader with the USB adaptor for your computer. From there you can open all saved files, pictures, etc. copy them all over to a new folder on your computer

There are a couple different ways you can remove stuff off your card. 1) remove the card and insert it into the sd card adapter that should have been in the package when you bought the card. Insert the sd adapter into your computer and it will become another drive on your computer usually labeled as card. You may also get a prompt on your computer asking you what you want to do with it. I would open it. Once you open the sd card on your desktop, find the files you want to move or copy. You can either right click on the file and select copy or move then go to where you want them to go and right click again and paste (or ctrl v). Another option, you can press ctrl A and it will select everything on your card. Right click to copy or move then paste it where you want it. If you know how to open 2 screens and place them side by side, this would allow you to select your files and simply drag them to the new home. On Windows 10 or 8 computer, select the box (I.e. Open view of sd card) with your mouse. Press left button to select it. Hold the button and drag that box to left or right until you see an outline of box and let go. Repeat with your other box (new home for your files). This makes transferring files really easy. Or it allows you to to have 2 things open side by side.
