It would be a highly unusual audio device that would not do the formatting for you; the fact that it is requiring FAT32 indicates that there is a computer chip, so to speak, within your device. In order to keep them versatile, most SD cards are not preformatted, but in fact can be re-formatted as needed when transferred from one device to another--erasing all the previous data, naturally.
