How does it hold a charge do you place it in the sun null

It has a charger cord (not shown in the image) that plugs into the wall. Then you just place your phone on the pad. Works great!

No, this isn't a portable charger, it requires a plug in to the wall in order to wirelessly charge your Samsung devices(or other devices that can be charged wirelessly).
