Hi Tom, The Upper and Lower Ovens are controlled independently, but there are limits to the temperature variance between them depending on which modes and temperatures are set. The convection oven does cook much faster and tends to cook hotter so you need to watch that you don't burn anything. A tray is used to divide the two ovens, however it would be difficult to fit a turkey into the lower portion of the oven. Hope this answer helps.
