I purchased mine from Samsung.com , but I can tell you that I use it on Verizon (Visible) and Tello (T-mobile) no issues. I'd assume "unlocked" here means the same thing as it does there.

The rep at the store and online at customer service said the IMEI number is what they use to determine if it's compatible. So I wasted $200 for a phone that I was assured would work with my current carrier since it is unlocked, but it doesn't.
