• Yes its not activated until you activate it. I put sims card in and it was immediately activated. Look for charge Of $25.00 being added on your next bill if you have Cricket. Check with your provider & they can give u price they charge for activation fee, which will show up on your next bill after you switch over yourself and get it to working.
