• Activate today get's you a discount by signing a contract. "Later" means no contact when you choose a carrier. #I don't recall if you have to order on line to get the unlocked #not locked to a carrier#

• I bought the phone with activation later so that I can use Republic wireless. If you want to save money and don't mind to use the wireless services that Bestbuy provides, you may want to use activation today.
