“If I get the GSM "Verizon" or AT&T "CDMA" version of phone as "one time payment activate now" do I have to buy a plan and Activate with the aforementioned companies directly or may I Activate through another company using the same network?? Thanks Much!”

I'm pretty sure you have to go with the carrier that's indicated with whatever phone you buy. And you have to go with a contract, not pre-paid. But this phone is so awesome (it's the second one I've purchased of this model), I was willing to do both.
