“Can the 2 USB Type C Charging Ports be used for data devices / drives, or are they truly only for charging?”

• Someone answered this question saying: "No, Not just charging." But if there are only 2 USB ports, and they are both C-types, it makes no sense that they would only be for charging. Who would pay $1,000-$1,700 for a computer that you can't backup, connect to various devices, etc.?
