It shouldn't. It might take minimal amounts if you're answering text messages via the quick reply function but I don't think it'd use hardly any data, surely no more so than if you were sending that same message directly from your phone. The apps used to tether your tracker to your phone might also use minimal amounts, mostly if switching between watch faces. According to my phone I've currently used less than 100MB on the Fit Plugin and less than 100 MB on the Galaxy Wearable from mid March to now (mid June), so barely any.
