Can it be used without being connected to a phone? null

I want to clarify this answer... while you can use without connecting to a phone, you need a phone, or I'm assuming computer, tablet, laptop (based on other answers), to pair so that you can begin using it. You cannot use the watch out of the box without pairing it to the app first.
