There are cases specifically designed for the Note 4 which are still available. I bought two, a Supcase which is water resistant and rugged for outdoor active-wear, and a genuine leather Motimo phone-wallet combination, which is a fine leather dress wallet case. Love them both. A screen protector is still needed with either of these two cases. I bought the Zagg Glass. The phone is an unlocked phone. I use it on the Metro PCS network. I cannot tell you if the phone works overseas. Shortly after purchasing it, I traveled to Hong Kong and Thailand, but only used it with Wifi when I was out of the country (I happened to have had a nano SD card while overseas; so, I used a different phone for the smaller SD card on that trip as the Note 4 uses a micro SD card.). The Samsung help desk at Best Buy was able to check for official Samsung updates for the phone for me. The phone does not have issues with official updates. It is Samsung that may have the issue... Samsung has not issued an update that would bring the operating system up to Marshmallow - I had hoped to upgrade the phone to Marshmallow. The phone runs on Kit Kat (and does so well). App downloads and updates are installed without any problems, and the phone has the memory to handle today's apps.
