Be careful with this promotion. If this is the only reason you're buying from Bestbuy, think twice about it. After receiving my unit, I'm being told the promotion changed and I'm not eligible for it! Changing the rules in the middle of the game is never a good thing!

Yes! In fact, they activated my gift card, then used it and took it off of the phone immediately.

Yes. When I went in I thought they would just give me the card, but instead they put it toward the purchase price.

I was able to. Just bring in any working smart phone. Just as long as it turns on and the screen isn't cracked, they should give you $200.

Yes, they will ring up the phone at $299 and total it out with taxes so it adds taxes to the full $299. Then at checkout they will use the $200 gift card which will lower the total to $130. So yes they do allow you to use the gift card on the purchase cost but it gets used as a $200 payment not a $200 discount due solely to tax purposes. (They have to tax the total cost of phone)
