Depends on the deal you are getting. We added a line, and got 2 for the price of one and traded my Note 9 in. I had to pay my note 9 off to get the deal.

I only had a few payments left on my note 8 which had to be paid off. Then I pre ordered the note 10 plus and paid the taxes. Because of the special the trade in gave me a lower payment to add to my bill on the phone. It only added a few dollars to my total monthly bill excellent opportunity with the special.

Your trade-in phone must be paid off (you must own the phone). Leased phones, the one where you pay monthly, are not eligible. When I went to BB to trade in my iPhone X for the Galaxy S10+, BB said I would have to pay the remaining balance that I owed on the phone in order to get the discounts. You can still pre-order but you will need to physically go into a BB store so they can take your payment up front, include the discounts, and then get your Note 10. BB will give you a label on where to send in your trade-in phone. You have 14-days to ship or else you will have to pay full retail on the Note 10.
