Samsung ditched 3.5 mm jack like many other phones one because its old technology. The other reason is that its harder to waterproof with adding that jack to the phone. If you are a die hard fan of wired head phones, you can get the usb C version. You can also buy and usb c to 3.5 mm jack adaptor.
