If it's an AT&T model and your current phone has a matching sim card size (nano) you can just call 611 and have them update the IMEI number to activate the proper service. Just make sure they know the ICCID will remain the same. You can also just pop the SIM card in and get service but premium features like mobile hotspot will not work until you call in.
