I was a previous HTC user, decided to switch to Samsung Note 5 because I liked the features and quality of the phone. I never thought I'd like a Stylus, but I find I'm using it daily for various things. I bought the Gold Note 5.........LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! SOOOO glad I switched!!!

Samsung Note 5 is a Good Upgrade (from a Note 3)

I previously had the Note 3 and loved it!. The Note 5 takes way better pictures though and is lighter and slightly slimmer than the Note 3, making it a little less cumbersome to hold with one hand. The icons are smaller so you can have more apps per page. I do miss having the additional storage. I now have to do a bi-weekly download of my pics, I take a lot of pictures. That's why only 4 stars, so if you're not a photog or app fanatic or don't mind transferring your photos or videos often, then this phone may work well for you.

I've been an iPhone fan...
This is my first "Samsung" Android device and I am in love with it I like it so much so I don't think so I will go back to an iPhone.
I still believe that the apps work smoothly on iphone than Android but I like what i can do with this phone, way more options and way more fun to use.

I purchased the Samsung Note 5 (64GB -white) and could not be happier! I took advantage of their current program where you trade-in your current smart phone for a $200 credit, a remarkable deal! You even receive a free Samsung Qi wireless charger!
The phone itself is so sleek and light, so beautiful! The screen is like no other! Such vibrant colors, very easy on the eyes. Lollipop 5.1 makes a smooth transition for iOS users as it is similar in appearance, but Android has more options than Apple can ever hope/wish for. (i.e. Next Launcher 3D)
The response time is super fast running between apps and overall usage of the phone. The call quality is extremely good as well, for both parties. I haven't received any complaints from anyone on the other end (both Android and Apple).
The S Pen is a remarkable device, if you use it. It's your first instinct to use your finger to operate the device, so you have to remember the S Pen is readily available to help make your experience with this "phablet" more enjoyable.
The camera quality is amazing! Such sharp and saturated colors, truly unbelievable.
Qi charging will make you feel like you are living in the future. It's so nice to not have to unplug your phone from charging to take a call, text, or surf the web. Of course you can use the usb cable for charging but that is outdated and old fashioned, only Apple users charge their devices that way. You have Qi, so use it!
Best Buy handled my upgrade extremely well! I am with AT&T and have been grandfathered for years with the unlimited data plan. I advised them of this from the very beginning. Once my upgrade took place, I logged onto AT&T and everything remained the same. So don't fear, Best Buy will take care of this for you.
Samsung has come a long way from plastic "cheap-like" phones and finally went toe-to-toe with Apple on providing a fabulous phone. Spared no expense on the products or design, you will love your Note 5!
The Samsung Note 5 will turn heads and if you have the Samsung Gear S (I have this) it will make your life whole and complete. Samsung all the way!

My first Note

I've had every odd number iteration of the Samsung Galaxy S Series since 2010. I've had the Captivate (Galaxy S), S3 and S5. Each time I got a new Samsung phone I've been impressed with the improvements. I wanted to wait for the S7 but couldn't resist the $250 gift card deal Best Buy had in November. I looked at other reviews and decided to take the plunge and get a Note. I'm glad I got mine when I did! I got my Note in gold and the color just recently came out. The Best Buy staff were helpful and patient with the activation process. I actually had a black Note and came back to exchange it for the gold one and it was smooth a smooth transaction. I had my worries about getting a larger phone and now I can't look back. This phone makes my previous S5 seem small. I love the S Pen and use it to edit photos and draw when I'm bored. The phone is super snappy and I love how fast the camera fires up! The camera quality on it is amazing! I can now take better low light photos. I can also say Samsung has definitely improved in software on the phone. The UI is cleaner and has smooth transitions. I would definitely recommend this phone for anyone thinking of upgrading!

Highly recommend this phone. It is beautifully made with premium material. The Samsung pen works like a real pen and is so convenient to use. The camera is stellar. Fast wireless charging is amazing and I highly recommend it. Battery last all day despite heavy use. True, there is no longer a removable SD card, but get the 64 Gabriel and you will likely be set. There is always cloud storage if you need. This has been my favorite phone I have owned so far, and I have had a lot.

Historically I am an Apple fan: iPhone 4s, 5, 6Plus, iPod Nanos, 5th Gen Touch, etc, but my life demanded that I begin utilizing more multi-tasking abilities, and my Note 5 has NOT disappointed! I thoroughly researched my choices, and although the Note 5 has some lags where I'd least expect (opening dialer pad and camera some of the times), it more than makes up for in other areas that my iPhones required additional steps (and thereby we see Apple's lag).
The S-Pen has quickly become my "can not do without" accessory (next to the cell phone itself); the S-pen has benefited me in expediting both my personal and professional communications, assisting in streamlining tasks and easing note taking/messaging.
The build quality of this phone has not left me missing the standards to which I had become accustomed to with iPhones: it has a solid feeling, sleek, modern looks, and yet VERY manageable in my petite hands (much more so than my 6 Plus). I know that many doubt the storage limitations, as Samsung moved away from expandable storage slots this time, but utilizing cloud storages are FAR easier than I remember of my past SD card days.
I have not experienced any difficulties in the Note 5's multi-tasking skills: my apps and various pages work fluently and flawlessly, and (unlike my iPhones) pages are NOT constantly refreshing.
The one area where I do take issue is with my software completing app updates WITHOUT my permissions (hence '4 stars'), especially on any bloatware apps that I didn't select, but as an Android newbie (once again) I have yet to discover if this is a Samsung issue, or an Android OS issue; any community responses on this matter are appreciated ;)

Great phone in every way. It feels great in the hand thanks to the curved sides on the back. The phone itself looks beautiful. People getting this phone as an upgrade from the previous Note would be concerned with battery life and storage. As a heavy user I find battery life to be better than the Note 4, standby time has greatly improved, I think it's due to the Exynos processor. The storage problem can be alleviated by getting a USB thumb drive that also has an OTG connector, yeah it's still annoying but at least it's an option. Samsung sells a 128GB USB 3.0 with an OTG connector on their site for 40 bucks, and SanDisk makes one that's available on Amazon but I'm not sure on the price of that one.

This is probably the best phone I have ever had. I'm not an Android user. I've used and owned Android phones and tablet in the past and vowed never to come back after terrible user experiences. HOWEVER, this phone has pulled me back. The features are second to none, the screen is second to none and the camera is second to none.
My only qualms are:
1. The phone doesn't run Android 6.0, but I hope that when Android 6.0 does come to this phone it doesn't make the experience terrible. (This is what has turned me away from Android in the past)
2. Everyone that sees it asks why I didn't get "that new curved Samsung"
3. The fingerprint reader while good is not as fast nor as accurate as the HTC One A9 I briefly owned
4. OK Google isn't easy to start up if your phone is locked and you are using a headset
5. No glove mode = you have to take your gloves off or buy tacky e-gloves when trying to use the phone... ohh and see point 4 even after that, you still need to use a finger to unlock the phone.

this galaxy note 5 is a lot better than note 4. The picture is so clear, speed is faster, battery is last longer....but one thing I don't like about this phone is unable adding my old memory chip into the phone.beside that I love the phone for that price.

Samsung doesn't disappoint. The one feature the note 5 had that sold me was being able to write on the screen while it's locked. The phone saves what you wrote and allows you to convert it to text later. This is my first note phone so I don't know if that was a feature in the last one. So now when I have a thought in my head or I want to write the name of a song I can just start writing vs unlocking the phone and finding an app. Overall the phone is easy to use and if you're coming from a previous android your apps and settings will be waiting for you.

The Note5 has been an awesome phone for work. It's great for looking at documents & media because the display is so clear and vivid. The stylus is handy and can make apps like Snapchat a little more entertaining with the drawing tool. The only drawback is the software runs a little warm, which was concerning at first after having a Galaxy S4 that would overeheat to the point of shutting down. However, no problems with that thus far. Overall a great phone.

I upgraded from Note 4 to new Note 5. Initially I thought there wont be much difference in terms of screen quality as both are quad hd. But Note 5 has really better screen than Note 4. Also, I was concerned about the battery life of Note 5 since it has lower battery of 3000 mah compared to 3240 mah on Note 4 but believe me, battery life is really good in Note 5. And it has improved after regular use. I would highly recommend this device.

What else is there to say... This phone ROCKS. I'm upgrading from a Note 4, and the screen and camera make it so worth the Next payment. Love how I can take a quick note on the locked screen, makes life easy with kids. Reading is so much better. The list just goes on... Wouldn't trade it for anything.... Right now, until the next Note (maybe)!!!
