My brother had the same phone and watch and they work together fine. So, I'd say if you are having trouble, try a different phone. If the other phone works, get your Note 5 checked out. Note: I also couldn't get the Note 5 to sync with a brand new Nissan Quest stereo through Bluetooth and didn't get anywhere.

It will require you to reset your watch tho, so any apps you downloaded to it will need to be reinstalled. The phone also more than meets the minimum requirements for android wear as well
