If you buy the phone outright or on the at&t next plan, there is no contact except to pay off the phone (on the next plan).

There is no contract. AT&T has Next plan now, where you make monthly payments for the device. Once it's paid off you can cancell the services. AT&T allows paying off after 60 days of service. At least, that how it was in my case.

If you have bout a 1000 you can get the unlocked no branded version but if you want to save money pic a contract You finance a car you finance a phone
