• Ah: that should be a given. In theory, you should be able to keep you current phone number even if you change carriers. FWIW: recently moved from a Note 4 to a Note 9, keeping existing AT&T Service, and my phone number ported over (to the new phone / sim card) - although it did take several hours for the new phone to become active.

• Yes, you should. As long as your account is with ATT you will be able to move it to your new phone. Just make sure to backup your old phone first. Contacts, pictures ect.
