No Service needed if using the wireless wi-fi. But cheaper to buy a tablet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an old Galaxy S phone and I use it for Internet without it being on our phone contract anymore so I guess you can. Bought the S III as my phone but saving the old one for when my husband's phone dies. In the meantime I've discovered the apps and Internet still work even though there's no phone service connected.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use this device as a wi-fi only device, meaning you can use the internet/browser & e-mail functions w/o having to be subscribed to a phone service.I believe you can also make phone calls using wi-fi only w/GOOGLE VOICE/SKYPE/VONAGE or other similar services. Check out the GOOGLE PLAY STORE for such applications & take a look at one of the many ANDROID enthusiast websites available for assistance on setting up such free service,or,anything else ANDROID related.(ANDROID FORUMS/ANDROID CENTRAL.etc...lotta good websites for the everyday user w/very friendly/eager to help members!)
