“I have never traded a phone at Best Buy on a preorder. Will I be required to give them my phone at the store on the day I preorder or will they let me keep the phone I am trading in until my new phone arrives.”

You give them your old device when you pick up your new phone. So you keep your existing device until then.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You keep the old phone until you pickup the new one. At that point, they give you an envelope that you have 14 days to mail your old phone back to your carrier (Verizon, ATT, etc).
