What does locked and unlocked mean null

When you buy an unlocked phone, you can use it with any cell phone service provider. Your provider will have you put in their Sim chip. Because you paid for the full price of the phone, without entering into a contract, you may also sell your phone or usually upgrade it whenever you choose to.

Locked means it can only be used with the carrier listed. Unlocked means it can be used with any carrier.
