• If you still have a contract through the same carrier you shouldn't have to pay the activation fee. All your doing is switching over phones.

• Of course you can stay with you contract but if you're upgrading Best Buy actually this time you can get a coupon

• if you want the phone and want to continue your contract without signing a new agreement, you would have to pay full price, but verizon now has a feature that allows you to pay monthly for the phone. And yes Verizon has a $35 dollar activation fee
