Customers are delighted by the Galaxy S6's camera quality, ease of use, and screen size. Many also appreciate its design and the range of features offered. However, some users express dissatisfaction with the battery life. The lack of expandable memory and the absence of water resistance are also frequently cited drawbacks.

This is by far the best phone I've owned. My previous androids were HTC and I'm so happy I made the switch to Samsung. The camera is fantastic, my cats whiskers look crystal clear in low light, the attached picture has been cropped and enlarged slightly. I have the wireless charging mat which is a fun gizmo but I'm glad that I got it for free, certainly not worth $60. The otterbox commuter case does work with the wireless mat, and the purple case looks very snazzy with the sapphire front of the phone. Call quality is excellent.

Excellent phone with one major problem

The phone is excellent. All of the features of the phone work really well. The camera is fantastic. And I really enjoy using this state of the art, world class, top-of-the-line smart phone, with one exception. There is a setting called advanced calling 1.0. You need to turn this feature on which gives you both HD calling and video calling capability through Verizon. The sad part is that with this feature on the phone makes phone calls through the 4G LTE internet network and the service here on Long Island New York is not of a high enough quality to ensure interrupted phone calls. After going 10 years without dropped calls, I was back to a place where almost every other phone call people could not hear me or the phone call would fade out completely mimicking terrible cellular service. Turn off the advanced calling 1.0 feature and the cell phone will function like all other phones with clear phone conversation using the traditional means of cell towers to make the call. The sad part is due to the design of this phone, with the advanced calling 1.0 turned off although you will have clear phone calls you will not be able to have any data transfer during that phone call. That means forget looking something up on a map while speaking to a friend on the phone or doing any other Internet connectivity. So is it the problem in the design of the galaxy S6?, or is it Verizon's poor service for voice over Internet phone calls? Time will tell.

This Otter Box carrying case uses a belt clip and a side clip to hold the phone to the case. I think its doing an excellent job but twice I though the phone was securely attached to the case and it fell. No damage either time. The phone is protected when is on my belt or in my hand or loose. It is secures in a portable case that clicks to the portion that clips to my belt. It is a two part case that surrounds the phone It is a little differnt that the previous Otter box and is taking some time to get used to but it does the job and wasn't that expensive. The two pieces in the middle of the picture wrap the phone then the piece on the left holds them together and clips into to piece on the right.

I went almost 2 yrs with my previous Motorola smartphone without any problems. When I received my new Samsung S6 I was enamored. I absolutely enjoyed the phone for almost a month. No dropped calls, slim fit in my hands, operational speed is super fast, great pictures and video, and I could go on. But I don't believe a $600.00+ retail price phone with the Tzumi Proglass Galaxy S6 Tempered Glass Screen Protector in place should shatter the very first time it falls from hip high. I do have insurance but it hurts when you have to pay $149.00 deductible to have your new 29 day old smartphone replaced with a used "replacement" phone. Oh yes I am sick! Corning Gorilla Glass advertisement - "In lab tests, Gorilla Glass 4 withstood 1-meter drops onto rough surfaces 80% of the time. That’s up to 2x better than competitive glass designs." Maybe my beef should be with Corning?

Im a stock Android fan, and my last Samsung phone was the Galaxy Nexus which I loved. Being a Verizon customer, my stock Android choices were pretty limited unless I was willing to root and custom load ROMs on my phone. My last phone was an LG G2 which is a great phone, but the digitizer was failing, so it was time to get a new phone. I looked at the Nexus 6, but holding it side by side with my G2, I just could not get used to the huge screen. I know a lot of people like the "phablet" phones, but I already have a tablet, and a laptop, and a desktop. I need my phone to be my phone. Plus the screen on the Nexus 6 is very yellow and just not nearly as vibrant as either Samsung or LG offerings.
The LG G2 has a 5.2" screen and the S6 is 5.1". The difference is mainly in the width. Both phones are almost identical top to bottom, but the G2 is ever so slightly wider. Otherwise, the difference in the screens aren't that noticeable. Samsung's AMOLED panel renders colors slightly more vibrant than the LCD screen on the G2, and the viewing angle is much better on the S6. I was pleased to see that Samsung offers a couple of color adjustments. I find "AMOLED Photo" to be my preferred setting. This keeps the reds from getting too blown out.
The increased sharpness really isnt that noticeable, except on a couple of games. Even though the screen is physically similar in dimension to my old phone, the increased resolution means more can fit on your screen at once. Overall, the screen is better in every way (except width) to my LG G2.
Everyone who has spent more than 10 seconds reading about the S6 already knows theres no more plastic. The sides are aluminum and the back is glass. The phone is very classy in your hand and I love the design. Some people have commented that the camera sticks too far out of the back, but that doesnt bother me at all. I plan on using a case for this phone (I ordered one from another online store and Im still waiting for it to come).
Performance wise, this phone is almost identical to my LG G2. The G2 was one of the first phones with the Snapdragon 800, and although the Exynos CPU in the S6 is faster on paper (plus 3GB of RAM vs 2GB), in day to day usage, I don't notice any difference. Both phones perform great.
Battery life is great too. For me, as long as a phone can last a day with moderate use, Im happy. Some people complain that it cant go 2 days, but that's unrealistic for me. I appreciate the thin profile of the phone, and frankly couldn't care less that the battery is not swappable. Neither the LG G2 or my previous Galaxy Nexus had interchange batteries, and frankly, I have no desire to swap out a battery.
Another complaint about this phone that I feel is overblown is the lack of removable SD card. This phone has 32 GB of storage, so did my old phone. I dont believe that the overwhelming majority of people need more than 32 GB these days. Cloud storage is plentiful and easy to use. Save your pictures and videos to the cloud and get them off your phone. I dont save local music to my phone other than the local cache for apps like Google Music or Spotify. I have at least 30-40 installed apps and games on my phone and at most, those use a combined 2 GB tops. I have never had less than 5 GB free on my 32 GB phones even before saving my pictures and video to the cloud. I acknowledge there are power users that do things that need expandable storage, but this isn' the catastrophic deal breaker that many people online make it out to be.
Frankly, I love this phone. The fingerprint scanner works really well, and doesnt require you to move your finger at all. I registered 3 fingers and have never had a problem unlocking the phone.
The IR remote works really well. Although I usually use the stock remotes for my TV and Dish Network, occasionally my kid loses the remote and its nice having a quick backup to change the channel or the volume.
I wish the phone had dial front facing speakers like the Nexus 6 and HTC One, but this is far from a dealbreaker. I also wish this was stock Android, but to Samsung's credit, Touchwiz is greatly reduced from earlier versions. There is a lot of stock Lollipop here with minimal bloat.
Although I've only had this phone for 3 days, I already know I love it. Samsung really hit it out of the park here. I think 5.1" is the perfect size for most people's hands, 32 GB is more than enough storage for the vast majority of people, and the lack of a removable battery is not an issue for me.

Pros: Phone is fast, screen size is good sized, IR sensor is nice, charges very fast, compatible with almost all wireless charging pads, both cameras are great, heart rate monitor is alright. I really like that I can double tap the home button and the camera will come up. I like that it is not constantly reminding me that there are wifi connections available like my old phone. I like the do not disturb feature so automatically every week day at 7:55 am all sounds are silenced and then they are turned back on at 4:30. 32GB of storage is nice for a base model unlike Apple.
Cons: Non removable battery, no microSD card slot, when scrolling through the 5 home screens you can not continually scroll through them, when you get to the end of the home screens you have to scroll back unlike my old HTC Droid DNA. Also when you go into where all the apps are there is not a search option to find a specific app. Finger print scanner is alright. I can get it to work on the 1st try about 50% of the time, the rest of the times it may take 4 times and then I may even have to end up typing in the password and I have reset up and had it rescan my fingerprint a couple times now. Some the Samsung apps that pop up all the time are annoying since they are taking up battery life. Only issue with the do not disturb feature is that you can not do one for work and another instance for at night, or one for Sundays during church as well, you can only set one instance. Took me a little while to get used to taking screen shots but eventually got it down. Phone definitely looks more Blue that it does Black.
Side Note:
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND an Otterbox defender case. I laugh at all these people buying the terrible slim or what looks good and is not bulky cases. They are the ones that crack their phone screens at least once or twice within their 2 year contract. My brother did not have a case, he broke a phone 7 times in two years, next phone he got an otterbox defender case and he has not broken his phone screen yet and has had the phone for 1 year.

I was due for an upgrade and was looking to get something I knew would last for awhile. After researching into newer smartphones I decided to go with the Galaxy S6. It had all the features I was looking for in a phone and I knew it would last me a while.
Pros- fast processor (cannot beat an 8 core CPU), the cameras are amazing with great features for photo editing, Kids Mode for my 5 year old, most updated droid OS, wireless charging, screen is amazing with great HD display, easy to change running features and apps.
Cons- Battery is good but not the best. If you get is phone research online ways to extend life you will find it helps a lot. The phone is not waterproof but to me this was not a big deal. The glass surrounding the phone makes it hard to hold at times so make sure you get a case and screen protector (I use Armorsuit screen protectors)
Thoughts- great phone with all the features I was looking for. It maybe new and recently released but I found Samsung makes a great phone!
This was my first Samsung phone but after playing it for awhile I think I am hooked on the Galaxy line.

Coming from the Galaxy S3 this was a great upgrade. Bigger, clearer screen, much faster, great camera, solid feel. Love it. Miss the SD card, but at least they upped the entry level to 32GB (hint hint, Apple!!). No removable battery, but that wasn't an issue on any other Samsung phone I've had so far.

Huge upgrade over my S4

I've had an S4 for about 2 years and really liked that phone, but I had no idea what I was missing! The S6 feels light years faster than the S4. The thumbprint lock is also huge. I use a password manager and the app allows me to use my thumbprint instead of typing in my ridiculously long passwords for different websites and apps (bank accounts, insurance, email, etc.).
It also feels very durable compared to my old S4. A lot heavier than what I was used to, but not too heavy to make it uncomfortable to use for long periods of time.
The screen is also bigger, but the design makes it easy to fit into my pocket. I work in construction and I don't even notice it while working.
The camera is also nice. Huge upgrade from what I'm used to.
My only complaint is the battery life. For some reason the battery won't last more than a day before needing to be charged. I consider myself a moderate user on average (emails, work emails, phone, text, facebook, games) and it would be nice to get at least 2 or 3 days. At least it has fast charging and within a half hour it's up to over 50% from 5%.
Overall I love my phone and I highly recommend it to anyone.

This is the phone to keep an eye out for this year if you're ready for an upgrade.
Get it if you:
-want premium feel along with the hardware
-want to take great pictures
-like a smaller phone vs the Phablet style
-don't mind having 23GB memory w/o removable battery
-like to customize/play around with phone
Don't Get it:
-If you need something rugged/water resistant
-if you need an SD card & removable battery
-if you like a simple phone (Streamlined like IOS)

This was my mom's first smartphone. She was hesitant at first, but warmed up to it by the end of the first day! Now she is a smart phone guru! The screen in beautiful, it doesn't seem to have any lag (as of yet), and it is quite user friendly. Her only complaint is that the battery doesn't last as long as she would like.- Does any smartphone? It is obviously a wonderful phone because a complete stranger decided her's was so wonderful that they made it their own while my parents were on vacation at Myrtle Beach. The dishonest person either works at or shops at the Guess outlet store there. I hope they are enjoying their new phone, and yes, I made sure my mom got a brand new one which she loves just as much as the original! (This time I made sure all her stuff was backed up, too!) ;-)

That big screen is fantastic! Yet the phone still fits in a shirt pocket. Performance is very fast. Camera is awesome! And it also works very well as a phone, including the sound quality on speakerphone. We have two of these-- my wife has the one with 32GB, and I got 64GB since I take a LOT of photos. Since we have the same phones, I can help her more easily if she has problems (she isn't as used to tech stuff as I am), and she can use my phone easily if hers is not handy.
We would make the same purchases again, and recommend these phones without hesitation.

Great Phone, bad battery

Phone is fast, and responsive, with a little bit of a learning curve from my old HTC DNA Droid, but it doesn't take long to figure out. Screen is awesome, camera and video are great as well with quick access to camera. S Health app monitors heartbeat rate, steps taken, time and distance ran, etc-pretty neat. Voice activation works pretty good, and it has a fingerprint scan to unlock phone, although I've yet to use this.
Phone is awesome, BUT you constantly have to charge it. Battery life is horrible, even using power save modes and turning Wi-Fi and mobile data on and off as needed.Sometimes have to recharge phone after as little as 5 hours of light use. One day started with 100% charge, made 3 short calls and sent a few texts in 4-5 bar area, and lost 4%. In bad coverage areas drain is even worse. Driving on Mass Pike in rural Western Ma., every web page opened used 1-2% battery. If battery gauge was analog, you might be able to see needle move as battery charge depleted. Unsure if this is normal, but compared to my old phone which didn't win raves for battery drain, it's way worse.
Very happy with phone itself, but battery is so bad, I now wish I had considered returning it when still able. Would recommend with caveat re. battery drain. It does charge extremely fast with included fast wall charger, and wireless charging is available, but these don't help when away from a power source. All in all very happy with phone, very unhappy with battery life.

Got this phone for my daughter and she loves it. This replaces a Droid Razar. It has a much larger screen and additional features that the other S4 we have in our family. We also like that it has maintained some of the old features as well. She also likes the improved camera and storage. The only downside is that I wish it had a micro SD card slot and a consumer replaceable battery but overall a great phone.

I have used a Samsung S4 for the past two years.
I have just purchased a Samsung S6;
Pros:
o Excellent Speed and features
o Camera shutter lag is vastly approved. Better camera overall.
o Good Apps
Cons:
o No SD Card... a real bummer. Since phone memory is limited.
o No User removable battery ... another major bummer.
It was priced right... in anticipation of the Samsung S7
I would wait of Samsung 7 which is rumored to go back to CLASSIC.

Let me start by saying that I read alot of reviews and contemplated getting this phone for 2 weeks before I finally decided to get it. One of the things stopping me was the iffy reviews and no SD slot mainly because I am obsessed with taking pictures. So I'll start by saying that I am impressed with how much storage I still have even after all the pictures I've taken since getting the phone. My worry for no more memory is pretty much gone. A lot of reviews I read were aimed at the battery life but I have to say that for being on my phone alot during the day I think the battery life is great! I really am glad I decided to go ahead and get this phone. I have had it for 3 weeks now and I love it. The camera on it may be the same megapix as the 5s but the pixels in this phone are amazing! Much better camera for sure! I had the s4 my husband had the s5. I have nothing negative to say about the phone at all. I had also read that some people started having problems after they did the software update but I did mine and have had absolutely no problems so far. The phone is very light, slim, & sleek. I love the appearance of the phone. I'd say if your thinking about getting it to go for it.

I got this phone when my Galaxy 5 broke and had the option of sending that phone out to be fixed for a fee of up to $150 or upgrading to the Galaxy 6 for free. The phones are pretty comparable in features and operating except for some noticeable differences:
Cons:
1. The battery life on the 6 is absolutely horrible. I can unplug it and not touch it and it will need to be charged by 3ish. I could go all day using my phone with the 5 and not charge it until bedtime.
2. The absence of expandable memory. I had put a 64gb card in my 5 and I chose the 32gb Galaxy 6 and with all of the system stuff they on it you really don't have 32gb to use. I only had about 18gb when I got the phone activated. I take a lot of pictures and do back them up to the cloud but having to delete them off the phone for memory is a pain. I have a lot of apps I use for medical purposes and other stuff. I had over 30 apps installed on the 5 now I have only downloaded the essentials now and use the web for things I used to use an app for to save space. I really should have gotten the 64gb phone!
3. The 5 had a task killer in the widgets. I used it all the time and loved it, I haven't found one on Google Play I like.
4. This is a stupid one, but it bugs me, the zero and the decimal point button on the calculator are reversed. The zero button is where the decimal point button is supposed to be and vise versa.
Pros:
1. It takes great pictures.
2. It does charge really fast, about 4 hours for a full charge.
I've always loved Samsung, and I have to tell you if I would recommend this to a friend, so I'm going to no for now. I am a Samsung fan, but with the battery life the way it is, I don't know. I knew going in that the battery life was less par than the Galaxy 5, I didn't realize it was THIS bad. If you go out somewhere and you'll be gone all day, it stinks that you have to go into power saving mode to make it. More than once I've come home and my husband has said "what the heck happened to you, where's your phone?" And it's been dead. It's just not right for a brand new phone that's only a month old.

The phone is great, perfect screen size and very clear/crisp. Battery life isn't that great, but it was better than what I replaced. Apps open quickly, and phone audio clarity is also good. This is the first Samsung phone I have owned, always purchased Motorola before. Would buy another.
