Best Buy works with many major carriers, it won't change anything. I just upgraded (Sprint) and went to Best Buy for my new phone. If you're eligible for an upgrade, you get the 'with 2-year contract' price (for Black Friday it's cheap...like $1 for awesome phones!). It's exactly the same as going in to your carrier's store and upgrading your phone. Just make sure that Best Buy works with your carrier and you'll be fine. I believe they work with Verizon, Sprint, AT&t and T-Mobile.

If you choose the pay as you go or any of those other offers it will increase your monthly bill. This is the current deal from Best Buy for a Sprint customer.

I've been buying phones for the last couple of years either from Best Buy or from Sprint depending on which one gave me the better price--particularly since I'm a Reward Zone member and can get even more off the phone depending on how much I've gotten saved up from past purchases.

Please try again later.If you have a two year contract, and you have fulfill the terms and are now eligible for an upgrade then you can resign a new two year contract, and get the phone for free. You may also decide to lease the phone and pay a monthly free, which gives you the option to get a new phone after one year.

Verizon charges a $40 upgrade fee to your bill but other than that, nothing is different between here and there. I upgraded when Best Buy gave me a gift card for my 5 so I paid about $20 (sales tax) at Best Buy and the $40 on my Verizon bill total for my upgrade.
