Yes, Samsung continued with the micro USB slot for the S7 and S7 Edge. The S8 has a different type of charger.

The charger for the S5 will work but it will not support the quick charge feature of the S7.

No unless you were only using the usual micro-USB for charging. They've gone back to the more common plug and not the wide one that was on the S5.
