I've had the phone roughly 5 months. No water damage & dropped once (1st month). The screen went black yesterday and Best Buy said I have to buy a new one because there's no insurance. Why wouldn't the warranty cover this so I don't spend another $600? null

Did you reset the phone by holding the volume down and power button at the same time? Mine does this once in a while and thats the only way to get it to come back on.

You should try going through your service provider's customer service. They should be able to handle your warranty claim.

The factory warranty should cover this. Contact Samsung directly and if this doesn't help then go to a Verizon corporate store.

Try going to your carrier, they would handle the warranty if it's still in effect.
