If it does not have Oreo installed already, soon after you activate it and have a cellular provider, you will get a notification that there is a system update available for download and installation. Mine is now running version 8 of Android (Oreo). Make sure that you have auto update set up in your Settings, this may be the default. To verify your OS, go to Settings, scroll down to the end at "About Phone", click it then click "Software Information", then Android Version should be at the top of the list. Mine is 8.0.0. My experience with Android tablets is that Samsung is good about doing updates promptly.
