You will be able to upgrade after you pay the phone off, and then the phone is yours to keep or sale. For example I just got the S8 on Monday called sprint 2hr later by *3 pay the phone off, it was the total of 16.67x24 =$400, now as of Tuesday I can now upgrade again. So say I can sell my S8 and get a different one if I wanted to. If I remember correctly the sprint next program is a lease so afte 12mon you have to give the phone back to sprint
