The $30 per month is on the full cost of $749 (or whatever the exact is), not on the sale price. The promo discount will take the monthly cost down to the $17.50, provided you want them to apply the $300 to your phone cost with Verizon. The $300 is actually on a BBY gift card, so you could also do a $30/month payment with Verizon and use the $300 in Best Buy for other stuff. This is going off of exactly what I just did upgrading my Galaxy S6 to the Galaxy S8.
