Yes of course you can put as much money down as you want and it wi lower your monthly payments for sure.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.At Best Buy, I was able to place a down payment in the amount I desired and my monthly payment, via AT&T, will only increase by $5/mo. Additionally, I have the option to contact AT&T directly to payoff the remaining phone balance at any time I wish. I love the options explained by the Best Buy team. Prior to going to Best Buy, I went to the AT&T Store directly; but, I was so turned off by the fact he Rep. was stuffing a DirecTV "free" offer down my throat and not listening to or addressing the reason I visited the store. He further insulted me by stating I needed to go to a corner screen fix-it shop for my damaged phone. I drove 2 miles down the street to Best Buy and purchased the S8+ w/o incident. They were cordial, knowledgeable, patient and non-pushy. I will be purchasing all my future phones from Best Buy instead of AT&T.
