Yes, unlocked phones work best with AT&T in my experience, However when you do get an AT&T sim card give it about 25 minutes to an hour after activation and reset the phone trust me every time I get a new unlocked phone my service doesn't activate immediately just give a little time

Please try again later.actually if you buy an unlocked phone and put in say an att sim card there is no guarantee that all capabilities will work. it requires a software update that the carriers are unwilling to provide. case in point a unlocked samsung s8 is fully capable of wifi calling but even with an att sim card you cant find the option to turn it on
