The short answer is yes, as long as you purchase a phone that is AT&T compatible or one that is unlocked. When you look at phones online or in the store you will notice that there are brands/models of phones associated with each carrier (T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, etc). An unlocked phone (which cost more) is a phone that is compatible with most (not all) cell service carriers. I have used AT&T for my cellular service carrier for over a decade, but usually purchase my phones through BestBuy for the same reason as you; much better pricing for the phones. BestBuy will help you set-up the phone and connect with your existing AT&T account. Or, you can purchase the phone from BestBuy and go to an AT&T store and they will set up your phone for you. By setting up I, mean transferring your information over from your old phone to the new one and some other basics of the set up process. Of course, you can do the set up yourself if you know how.
