I asked the sales person the same thing and was told the 24 month payment plan was a purchase. I was told the 24 payments would pay for the phone in full.

I believe the 24 payments options means you are purchasing the phone and own it outright after the 2 years. The Flex Lease with 18 months of payments is the lease where you can trade in for the newest model every year.

This all depends on your carrier and the options they offer. With sprint, you can do either. If you have a payment plan and pay the taxes outright, there are no additional charges after the phone is paid off. Once the retail is paid, it is yours.
