• I know att phones don't need to be unlocked with straight talk. Almost every phone I have used for them has been att locked. So far att towers have worked best for straight talk as I believe they are partnered. Verizon throttles 3rd party providers and the rest don't seem to have the greatest coverage areas.

• you should be able to go with any carrier if you buy the unlocked phone because it is not tied to any other carrier so your free to go with whomever you choose

• Not 100% sure but Verizon's prepaid is cheaper and it will work
