Absolutely not. Integrates with Smartthings so well. Amazing technology. And the battery, unlike Tile, is replaceable!

However, if it's on your cellphone, as an app to track the tile, it will consume some data each day, unless you shut it off. If you have unlimited data on your cellphone, or a large amount of a monthly data allowance, it probably won't be of concern though.
