A:Answer No, its not a phone. You could instant message people with Facebook instant messenger. Thats pretty quick. You can send and receive email if you have the internet everywhere you go, but you'd have to pay to have that service (the internet) and have your own account with a common carrier. You could Skype with it so thats almost just like a phone and since there is the camera built right in you could see eachother too, whoever it is you're calling if they have a device that shows pictures, but not if they are using an ordinary old regular telephone (like a land line) you'd have to simply open a Skype user name and password which doesn't cost more but you still have to pay to have access to the internet, say in a restaurant (sort of free) or at a friends house using their wifi password to access their wifi network. But no, its not a phone. You can email photos to someones phone and text, and they can email you back. Good luck.
