Nope! The keyboard requires no external power source, it automatically clips into your tablet via some magnetic attachments which I assume also provide it with power.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You do not have to charge the Keyboard separately. You attach your tablet to it and its ready to go. I find that one of the best features of this Keyboard as you don't have to charge it AND you don't have to play the connecting game either. It worked right out of the box!
