I had the same question & found this: "With the Call & text on other devices feature, you can make and receive calls on your tablet as long as it's signed into the same Samsung account as your phone. You can also send messages. However, the connected phone will need to have active service." I'd love to hear the answer from someone who actually knows the product.

The advertised Galaxy Tab S9 FE is for a Wi-Fi enabled tablet. LTE versions of the Tab S9 FE would require a SIM card in order to fully functional under your wireless carrier's network. However, with the Call & text on other devices feature, you can make and receive calls on your Wi-Fi enabled tablet as long as it's signed into the same Samsung account as your phone. You can also send messages. However, the connected phone will need to have active service.
