Yes you can listen to music downloaded onto this device. Use the app (not very good) to move between songs. .... A line is NOT required for the watch unless you purchase the LTE version, which I understand is only good for Verizon, though some users with T-Mobile have been able to activate it there. .... Even if you choose to buy the LTE verizon, however, you can always use the device in bluetooth mode only.

I added my spotify and I can listen to music in my watch and it sounds great as well. As well as my phone calls when I answer and I connect it thru Bluetooth to my phone and even gave it a device name it connects automatically to my phone.
