I just received the Galaxy Watch 46mm bluetooth version. 2 basic apps I would expect from a smart watch are messages and an email app. This watch has neither? What am I missing?? null

It actually does both! Turn the bezel to the right until you reach the screen to launch apps. You can load six on that screen and you can press the blue dot in the middle to open more apps. Once on the more apps screen you can rotate the bezel to show even more apps.

I've got email and messages both loaded to my default app screen and I'm able to receive and respond to both. Also remember ypu need to set the watch up in the app on your phone.

You are both incorrect. I spoke to Best Buy and also Samsung and they said the two are incompatible and that is why I cannot see the apps. Google Pixel 2 no go with the Galaxy Watch.

I have not seen e-mail capability for this watch.
As far as messaging, when you pull up a contact you have the option to call or text; at that point you can create the text and send it.
If you want to send a text to a person not on your contact list, you can create a new contact and then re-access that person and call/text.
Or you could simply pull your phone out of your pocket and use that.

There are no apps for the watch.

Your notifications will come to your watch, you can respond using the watch, this doesn't require any apps to do so.

This app has both of those items. The watch also have a lot of other apps you can utilize as well. If you are not seeing those apps. Please visit your local best buy samsung kiosk for assistance.
