Sadly, it does not work with Google Voice ( I would recommend a Moto 360 2nd Gen if that is the type of capability you are looking for out of your wearable! This watch has been updated to use Bixby (Samsung's Voice based Assistant) This cannot use google voice due to the fact that it is using the Tizen OS Platform instead of using Android Wear.

If you have Google Voice installed on your phone, and the phone connected via BT/Wifi to your Galaxy Watch, AND notifications from Google Voice enabled in the Galaxy Wearable App...then you CAN receive Google voice SMS messsages and reply to them. You CANNOT initiate GV messages to a contact, and TO MY KNOWLEDGE you cannot receive GV text messages if the watch is using LTE and not connected to the phone via Bluetooth/Wifi. Every US cellphone company that supports the ESIM in the Galaxy Watch (and Gear S2/S3/Frontier...which right now is only T-Mobile/Verizon/ATT...not any MVNO) only supports the watches via a "number duplication" scheme (e.g. T-mobile's DIGITS with Data plan) but this does not provide the watch with a unique phone number that Google Voice can use to direct the text messages directly to the watch. I will be testing the latter statement in the coming days, but at the moment I don't believe you can use GV at all in LTE mode (without a paired watch over BT/Wifi). This is probably the biggest dealbreaker for me and may cause me to return my Galaxy Watch, simply because my kids are millenials and getting them to pick up a phone to call instead of text is like leaping over a tall building in a single bound (and I haven't given my cell phone number to anyone, ever...I've used Google Voice for more than 10 years)
