I had a similar issue. Did you try changing the notifications on the watch? Not sure if that will help but I was not able to get any text notifications or text back. Galaxy Wearable App - Notifications ( at the top) - Manage Notifications. I had the issue because I was not using a default text app. I just clicked my text app on and it worked. So I'm thinking if your not getting notifications that would be why. But now that I think about it, is your watch not even connecting via bluetooth? Just an idea hope it helps.
