The GPS and cellular basically means that the watch will act as a cell phone. You will be able to make calls without having next to you, but you will need to pay a monthly service for your watch. The GPS version, you can also make calls, but you just need to have your phone with you at all times. If you purchase option 1 (GPS only), it will still connect to your phone with no problem. The benefits of buying the cellular version is you won't need your phone with you at all, but you gotta pay a monthly service for it.

The LTE version can receive calls and messages without being connected to a phone. However, you'll first need to activate service for your watch through the same carrier as your mobile phone. ^Elizabeth
