The lte version of the watch can be used like previously mentioned, but also if you add it to your phone plan it can operate I dependantly of your phone! Like if you left your phone at home the watch would still mostly function. Realistically the Bluetooth one is just fine as we have our phones with us all the time anyway, and not everyone can add a watch to their phone plan without paying more.
